Weekly Blog Challenge

On Memorable Seasons one of my favorite scrapbooking sites we have started a weekly blog challenge. This weeks blog challenge is to blog about something we did as a child that we are proud about now as an adult.

When I was young both sets of my grandparents lived about 3 hours from us, although there was a big difference, my dads mom and stepdad were doing okay for themselves and were fairly healthy but on the other hand my mom's parents, my grandma and grandpa Yager were not as lucky, they were always struggling to make ends meet and my grandfather had a heart condition and my grandmother not only was a brittle diabetic but also had a severe curvature of the spine.

Whenever we went to visit them which was as often as we could as my parents worried about them and tried to help them out, I would always notice that my grandmothers bathroom was dirty with built up soap scum and the floor was in need of mopping. It made sense since she could not get down to clean the tub or toilet or the floor since her back was so severely curved. So I would quietly go off to the bathroom and clean the bathroom as best as I could for my young age to surprise my grandmother. I can still remember how much I enjoyed doing it for her.

Now when I look back at those days, I am so glad that I did that for her. I was not able to do much else for her but I as sure she knew that I loved her!

ON MEMORIAL DAY, a memorial!

IT is with a very sad heart that today I give tribute to someone who died last night Kevin Teeter from Elmira N.Y. sadly Kevin has died due to being burned severely when his home was burned and considered a total loss by someone or someones committing arson!

For many years I worked as camp nurse at a church camp for as many as 4-5 weeks of camp. Kevin was always there each week working the camp too usually in the kitchen! Kevin had a heart of Gold! I guess if I could say anything about Kevin I would say He loved God and he loved people! He loved to make people happy and I believe in my heart it was because he knew that it was what God wanted him to do! It was not unusual to see Kevin yelling "Hi to someone and waving his arms way up high so they could see him all the way across the other side of camp! I am proud to say that I was one of those people he yelled Hi to many times!

Kevin will be missed!

His family.. His sister and father are still in the hospital and are still not out of danger! so please pray for them! They are in need of prayer not only for healing but how they will manage after they are able to go home!

For more information here is a website being handled by the pastor of their church~
It gives the story from the start and updates!

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!

I hope everyone has had a wonderful Mother's Day!
Mine would have been better if I could have spent it with my grandchildren and gotten to seen my oldest son but it was a good Mother's day otherwise!
I thought I would share the wonderful bouquet that my son Kevin and his wife Maria and my grandson Britton in S.C. sent to me for Mother's Day! I miss them so much! They gave me another Mother's Day gift also, they went down to visit my parents, Kevins grandparents which meant alot to Kevin's grandparents but also meant alot to me! My mom had a ball playing with Britton! She says he is a sweet boy! Sorta makes me jealous! I wish I could spent some time with that sweet boy!
Happy Mother's Day Mom! I love you!

I want to invite you all to a crop!

I have been hanging out at a new forum and there is going to be a great NSD crop there starting Friday May 2-4th So come on join the fun!

Can you believe that after having a blog for over 2 years now that yesterday for the very first time I called my parents and gave them the web address and talked to them on the phone as my mother sat and looked at my blog entries for the past 2 years! she did not read them but she looked all the way through all the photos and layouts! Don't know why I waited so long! especially when they live 800 miles away and this way they get to see the photos of their great grandkids and actually their grandkids too! HUMM WHAT WAS I THINKING!
