Needed a release of emotions and WHAT BETTER WAY!

After being in the room the other day when they called the CPR on my mother, I need a release to tell her just how much she meant to me and scrapbooking helps me deal with stress (most times unless under pressure to finish a layout!!! LOL) so I did the layout which is a wonderful sketch by Cut Cardstock own NORMA KENNEDY!!
I am in love with Cardstock by Cut cardstock!! the colors are just wonderful!
Anyways my mother is doing better but today the are taking out the nasal feeding tube and doing surgery to put in a gtube (stomack feeding tube) since the nasal one has caused a sinus infection. SO please pray today! THANKS again! I love you all and totally believe that it is the prayers holding her up. I am trusting in my Savior and I know "His grace is sufficient"

Here is the Journaling:
These past days have been rough and I want you to know just how much I love you! I am so thankful you are my mother but also my best friend. I have enjoyed our times painting together and our times spent researching family but most of all just the time together. I love how you show so much love to my grandchildren. They are blessed to know you. You have taught me so many special things. Even the value of the old dishes we collect. When I saw this paper I immediately thought of your china and I even used a piece of it to trim the green cardstock! My love for you and respect for you grows deeper every day! I am so thankful that God gave me more days with you!

Today was not good at all!

But GOD answered prayer big time! We almost lost my mom to the point that her heart almost stopped and her bp bottomed out and the did cpr to help it circulate the meds but it never stopped!

She had problems during the night and this morning breathing and they found out why after the cpr! Her lung had a tear and now she has a chest tube and things are better! GOD IS SO GOOD! THank you all for continued prayer!

Never ever doubt the power of prayer!

Oh and bye the way congrats to my friends at http://www.Scrapcity.com for being back online! and I appreciate their prayers too!

More Good News!

Mom is responding well! They have her off all sedation and pain meds! they have been switching the ventilator to cpap machine and even to an hour of plain oxygen today with success!

Today she answered me by shaking her head yes and by moving her tongue!

The bad news is she is running a fever which they have found is coming from a central line (iv line they but in her neck area) she is on antibiotic x 2 days but not responding yet! So keep praying!

Here is a photo taken just about 5 days before she went in the hospital with my youngest grandson!

Sorry I did not update sooner!!!

This is my mom and my older brother in 1958~
two nights after returning from our last visit (sunday), I was flying back to S.C., my mom was on a ventilator and they had her fully sedatated and also paralized her (because she was still fighting the ventilator) she has finally come around to where they have stopped the paralitic and they have started reducing the sedation and are trying to wean her off the ventilator. at this time she is coughing and moves and thrashes in the bed which is hard to watch but does not react to us but they say she should fully recover to her her previous condition and even be a little better. She has Severe asthma and emphesema but when we were down helping them her and I went shopping together and even picked out some scrapbooking stuff for the album I am doing for her.

So prayers are still appreciated but I know that soon she will be back to her old self and yelling at us for letting them put that nasty tube down her throat!

GOD IS GOOD!

back from S.C. but my heart is there!!!

Prayers needed desprerately!
Hubby and Me and the grandsons Noah and Jason just took a trip to S.C. to help my parents get some stuff done around the house since my dads surgery~ Hubby did a lot of mowing and trimming and put a hand held shower in the bathroom for my mom. I moved my moms flower garden close to the house so my mom could still enjoy it!

we were able to see our oldest son and see our other grandson Britton while we were there and even get a few shots of the boys together. ( was not easy between the all the busy boys, hot weather and gnats!)

BUT WHILE WE WERE THERE MY MOM STARTED GETTING SICK, SHE HAS BAD ASTHMA AND COPD. THE DAY WE FLEW OUT MY DAD WAS GOING TO TAKE HER TO THE DOCTOR, BUT ENDED UP TAKING HER TO THE HOSPITAL.

THEY ENDED UP PUTTING HER ON A VENTILATOR AND SEDATING HER. I FOUND ALL THIS OUT JUST AS I LANDED IN OUR HOME AIRPORT. I TRIED TO GET A FLIGHT BACK RIGHT AWAY BUT COULD NOT. HERE ELECTROLYTES ARE MESSED UP AND SHE IS NOT PUTTING OUT URINE LIKE SHE SHOULD BUT THE DOCTORS ARE FEEL SURE SHE WILL COME OUT OF IT.

I FEEL PRAYER WILL MAKE SURE OF IT! SO PLEASE PRAY!

ALSO MY DAD IS A BASKET CASE! HE IS FALLING APART. I ALREADY FELT HE WAS DEPRESSED FROM THE SURGERY WHEN I WAS THERE SO HE COULD USE PRAYER TOO! tHANKS AGAIN!

Little things keep us so busy!

Did you ever stop to think where did this day go and it was just filled with little things, crazy things? Lately that is how my life has been, so filled with little things that I never find time to just relax, enjoy my patio and scrapbook.

I really feel overwhelmed with little things and need to find a way to get rid of some of them I guess. It might help me physically too! Not sure how to do it but maybe I will have to get more organized and maybe say no more, don't know but that is what my thoughts are today!

I made a card for my daughters and sil's anniversary I wanted to share! The anniversary was yesterday.

The card is made with/on a transparency. A little tricky but sure was fun and my dd loved it~

Remember WHEN!

This layout is for my Dad! This is my dad's favorite photo of me!
I was in a stash swap and Norma Kennedy sent me the most awesome papers and embellishments and I used them to do this layout! I know that the quote doesn't show really well but it say:
Where We Love is Home.
Home That Our Feet May Leave, But Not
our hearts.

Special Times

When I saw this paper from Daisy D's I knew it was the perfect scrapbook paper to use for my grandparents picture as they loved roses! My grandfather planted many rosebushes in his yard. They were his pride and joy! This was an old Polaroid photo that I enhanced and improved greatly while visiting my mom!

I also did this layout for a challenge on three sites one for a challenge where the technique was to do tearing on a new site I just started called The Scrap City and another was for the Challenge on the 2 Sassy Scrappers blog
and the Scrap 4 Life Technique challenge handstitching!

Thanks for looking and check out my favorite sites!

Back Home!

I am home again! Thank you to all that prayed for my dad! He still can use lots more prayer, his road to recovery is long, and he is getting a bed sore on his heel also!

My trip had some great points! Spending quality time with my mom! (spending time with my dad too but it was not really quality in his condition, and well you know what men are like when they are sick!!!)

Just watching the hummingbirds with my mom was a joy!

We took apart the old nasty photo albums and worked on getting the photos into "Acid Free" albums and I took some old photos and worked on the computer correcting and enhancing them. When my aunt saw them she suddenly produced some old old family photos and I really got to enhance some! I scrap a few so far but can't wait to scrap them now that I am home and have all my supplies!!!

I also took mom shopping to get a supply of groceries built up in the cupboards and the freezer. We went to sams and she used the electric wheelchair just so she did not tire out so easy! It was fun! Glad my uncle could stay with my dad for us to do it! Just tasting the samples with her was fun! While we were out we went to the dollar store and she bought frames for the photos I restored and enlarged. I altered them for my mom and she loved them!

I got to see my grandson, son and dil who live down in S.C. twice while I was there and that was great too! THey live about 2 hours from me! Britton my middle grandson (8 days older then my youngest grandson is a sweetie!) He called my mom and me, grandma and grandma! LOL

The first Saturday the came down my niece and her boys came over, and my nephew and niece in law and their boys came over also so I got to see and enjoy more family!

It was great to see My grandson with my parents too~ So many children never know their great grandparents!

It was a joy to come home and be greeted with load of kisses from my other two grandsons, Jason and Noah! I most defiantly felt missed! OH of course hubby had some kisses in there too! The boys were insistent that I rode in the back seat with them right in the middle!

Thought I better update!!!

My dad is not progressing as well as expected so I had to change my flight and I am staying longer in S.C. I am concerned as my mother's breathing is not doing so well also! So please pray for both of my parents!

I have helped coach both my niece and my nephews wife on how to start a blog while I have been down here so it will be nice to be able to see photos of my great nephews! I did scrap a photo this morning of my great nephew. My nephews wife Mica started scrapping at one time and so I used some of her supplies. I am trying to upload it and when I succeed I will post it!

Thanks for all the prayers so far! and thanks for those in the future!

Well I made it to S.C.

I think I am already missing scrapping! they just delivered the hospital bed for my dad for when he gets home from his surgery and I was making the bed and thought oh I like these sheets together, one was striped, the other flowered. I told my mom they matched good even though I was thinking humm if they were pattern papers, I would put them together on a layout!

My second flight was not so good! I won't share the miserable details but I sure hope the fly back is better!

Here is a layout I did before I left! Inspired by an ad challenge by Jen on Memorable Seasons!

Wow I am being a bad blogger!

This is bad! I usually keep up more often on my blog!
So here is some of the latest news! Jason is all done with his baseball games! just in time too because he has been quite sick with his asthma!
Our pool is open! YEAH! it is hot and humid here! I am going to like having my own pool! Decided that after one day of the pool being open!
I have to go down to South Carolina because my dad is having major back surgery so pray for me! I hate flying and especially flying alone and pray for my dad's surgery Please!

I had 4 cortisone injections in my shoulder and back because they feel that the shoulder is helping to throw off my neck and neurological problems, and somehow they did not put my latex allergy on my chart and the doctor used latex gloves and I have some major welts on my back and shoulder STILL and the shots were friday! I am using benedryl cream and it seems that I will think they are getting better and then boom they look worse!

Oh forgot also that on friday I got to watch my grandson pitch for a baseball game! that was a great experience! He did very well, his first year every playing ball and he is pitching! He started out the year going out for tee ball and they moved him right up to farm league and all year he has either played shortstop, first base or pitcher! GO JASON! OH by the way I am his #1 fan!

that is about all the news for now!

Pet Peeve!

My challenge on MEmorable seasons this Week is to Blog about a PET PEEVE something that really irritates you!
But then follow it by Blogging about something besides family that makes you smile!

My Biggest pet peeve is people who lie! I really have a huge problem with this! Especially when their lies hurt other people! Just recently this happen in our church and I was amazed that the people doing this could continue to pray and look up to God! I just don't understand why people do this and sometimes People will lie to you when you know you can prove them wrong! Makes no sense! Guess their lives are really dull!

Something that makes me smile is when someone smiles at me or when someone is just pleasant to me on the street who does not know me! that seems to be getting more rare each and every day! I really feel we need to support each other more today then ever before and even a smile can make a difference in someones day!

A few of my latest designs~

Weekly Blog Challenge

On Memorable Seasons one of my favorite scrapbooking sites we have started a weekly blog challenge. This weeks blog challenge is to blog about something we did as a child that we are proud about now as an adult.

When I was young both sets of my grandparents lived about 3 hours from us, although there was a big difference, my dads mom and stepdad were doing okay for themselves and were fairly healthy but on the other hand my mom's parents, my grandma and grandpa Yager were not as lucky, they were always struggling to make ends meet and my grandfather had a heart condition and my grandmother not only was a brittle diabetic but also had a severe curvature of the spine.

Whenever we went to visit them which was as often as we could as my parents worried about them and tried to help them out, I would always notice that my grandmothers bathroom was dirty with built up soap scum and the floor was in need of mopping. It made sense since she could not get down to clean the tub or toilet or the floor since her back was so severely curved. So I would quietly go off to the bathroom and clean the bathroom as best as I could for my young age to surprise my grandmother. I can still remember how much I enjoyed doing it for her.

Now when I look back at those days, I am so glad that I did that for her. I was not able to do much else for her but I as sure she knew that I loved her!
